Naar aanleiding van de recente publikatie van
de NICE richtlijnen voor diagnose en behandeling van ME/CVS (Engeland)
verscheen onlangs een artikel in the British Medical Journal

De publikatie van dit artikel en de onderliggende NICE richtlijnen
leidde, niet verwonderlijk, al vrij snel tot reakties van patiënten en medici.
Enkele citaten uit brieven aan de redakteur van de British Medical Journal:
ME;
it is waking up in intense unbearable unbelievable pain for 14
years and knowing it's going to probably be the same forever ]
not because it has to be like that
but because it is being manipulated like that.

It is apparent that
this treatment
[GET en CGT, FT]
is not the treatment of choice, in fact it
is detrimental to the well being of the ME patient.
The psychiatric psychopolitical group have used GET as a lever
[breekijzer, FT]
to support their theory, GET is unhelpful and unhinges
[ontkracht, FT]
their theory.

"In the one year follow-up period,
17%
of the population of patients with ME/CFS
who were working,
became disabled from work.
In the same time period,
9%
of the population that was disabled from work,
returned to their own or another job."
So 9% instead of 70%, and then most of them did not go back to their own job either. That means
even less than 9% was "cured" unfortunately.
So stop wasting time, effort and money in CGT…
